HISTORY
Woodbridge Elementary School in Lodi Unified School District serves kindergarten through sixth grade students and operates on a modified traditional calendar. Woodbridge Academy was built in the 1860's, but remained empty until 1879 when the United Brethren Church of Woodbridge utilized the building as a seminary. In 1882 the school began to offer college courses as well as degrees in 1883 and was known as San Joaquin Valley College. The college closed in 1897 due to financial troubles. In the late 1890's the school became know as the Woods Grammar School which was later torn down to build a new school building. Woodbridge Middle School opened on July 1, 1980 and closed on July 1, 2004. Woodbridge Elementary School opened on July 31, 2006 after a two year renovation project. (Lodi News Sentinel Aug 1, 2007)
